„Organ Museum“ in Waldkirch

I’ll guide you through the „Elztalmuseum“ which is located in the center of the town Waldkirch in the Black Forest.
The big district town Waldkirch is located approximately 16 km north east of Freiburg im Breisgau at the gate of the Elztal.
Church and merry-go-round organs, orchestrions, hurdy-gurdies and street-organs during the past 200 years have been delivered all over the world and have brought the music of the Black Forest to the dancing halls and to the fairs.
The manufacture of hurdy-gurdies up to the manufacture of fair, fun fair and church organs has persisted until today. Five organ builders have workshops in Waldkirch or live in this town. Three as well build or design church organs.
In one of my numerous guided tours you can let yourself be carried away by the amazing history of organbuilding by the famous workshops of the Black Forest regions in company of an expert.
Whether we are talking about a family trip, a school excursion, a tour with friends, a club or company outing – everybody will find something suitable here.

The museum is accessible for people on wheels – There is a coach car park directly at the museum
Visitors with restricted mobility and wheelchair users can visit the museum and participate in the guided tours given that all the divisions of the museum are accessible by elevator or via a ramp. When realizing your booking you may provide me with your requests concerning length, breaks or required space. Maximum of 30 persons per group, respectively. Please kindly take into account that according to the museum’s guidelines for groups superior to 30 persons, respectively, a second museum guide has to be employed.
