I will guide you through the German Clock Museum which is located in the center of the town Furtwangen (Black Forest). The museum is dedicated to the history of the time measuring devices, one of its main focuses being the manual and industrial manufacturing of clocks in the Black Forest. The collection amongst others comprises early cuckoo clocks dating from the 18th century as well as the prototype of today’s Black Forest souvenir.
The collection has existed for over 160 years and today counts more than 8000 objects from all over the world. Approximately thousand clocks are visible for the visitors.

The museum is accessible for people on wheels – coach parking directly at the museum.
People with restricted mobility and wheelchair users can visit the museum and participate in the guided tours since all the divisions of the museum are accessible via an elevator or ramps. When making your reservation please kindly provide me with your requests concerning length, breaks or space.
Groups until a maximum of 30 persons. Please note that according to the guidelines of the museum with groups exceeding 30 persons a second museum guide is to be present!

… here can spring into action themselves. By request I will place emphasis on pedagogical or topical issues. Please contact me 2-3 weeks before the planned date in order to provide for the necessary preparations.

„Making your own clock in the clock workshop“

Here we will get down to business sawing, painting and assembling. Suggestions will be given to us during a guided tour through the exposition. Everybody will make his own lacquer plate clock with quartz mouvement or a solar clock with a compass.
